Master Raymond Cheung

Master Raymond Cheung has been training in martial arts for nearly all of his life. He has devoted much time and effort teaching traditional Hung Gar, Chinese full contact sparring (Sanshou) and Lion Dancing.  He is the Founder and Chief Instructor for the Shao Lin Hung Gar Kung Fu Association, a martial arts organization which has a Kung Fu Demonstration Team and a Lion Dance Team that is well known to the community. The Lion Dance Team has won many special awards at major tournaments and special events. Sifu Cheung is the instructor of the Vancouver Police Department and Chinese Community Policing Center Lion Dance Teams. Besides the leadership role he plays in his own club, he has also been involved in Canadian National Wushu and Kung Fu organizations.

In 1984, Master Cheung won the Full-Contact Arnis Championship in British Columbia, Canada. In 1999 Sifu Cheung was the Assistant Team Manager of the Canadian National Wushu Team. Sifu Cheung was the founding Vice President of Wushu BC, and is currently the President of the Freemasons Athletic Club. He also holds an 8th Degree Master's certification from CCWO. He is the Advisor of the U.S. Kung Fu and Wushu Federation and holds the title of Martial Artist of the Year for 2006.  In March of 2007, Sifu Cheung was elected as the founding President of the Hung Gar Association of Canada. 

In 2008, Sifu Cheung was selected as one of the Top One Hundred Extraordinary Wushu Practioners in the World. In 2009, he was entered into the Hall of Fame Award. In 2010, he was also awarded the 9th Degree Master's Certification from the World Organization of Wushu and Kung Fu Masters. Sifu Cheung's Kung Fu School lineage traces back to the Great Grandmaster Lam Sai Wing, a disciple of the legendary Wong Fai Hung. He currently runs a very successful Kung Fu school at numerous locations within the lower mainland area of B.C. Canada.
