Lion Dance
The Shao Lin Hung Gar Lion Dance Team is based in Vancouver and is well known to the community. The team has participated in the Chinese New Year's parade in Chinatown for over 10 years and also participated in many charitable events, such as taking part in the "Walk with the Dragon" in Stanley Park,
visiting old folks' homes and fund raising for
the flooding victims in China. Also well known is the Ladies Lion Dance Team, founded by Sifu Raymond Cheung in 2004.
These teams have entered in lion dance competitions, received many special awards and performed demonstration in many big events and martial arts tournaments. They have also been invited to do the performances for many major malls, public markets, schools, universities, and the grand opening of stores and businesses throughout the lower mainland.
